Lack of Communication

Well, well here it is Wednesday already! My packing is pretty much done with the exception of our daily items and such. I have finished Poke though! He's been my only project that I really have been trying to get done before we go up North. I will be taking squares for the trip but it's kind of hard to concentrate on a pattern in the car so I really wanted to get him done. So here he is in his internet debut:
This is without his star. this is the star waiting to be attached. Here the star is attached BUT I don't like how it turned out so I will be removing it and reattaching it so that it is not all wonky!
So on to other things now!
My Sister just replaced the chandelier in her dining room so being crafty I thought I would use
the old one to create something new and fabulous!

I just haven't decided what it will be yet! Like I need another project right now! It's all good!
That's it for today!

Rock & A Hard Place

Well we're coming down to the wire now! Only a few more days left until we are on the road! Speaking on road, we went to my Cousins house on Saturday for her Daughter's birthday and since it's a 2 hour trip I took yarn! This is what I got done on that trip:
I finished all of the Blue inside squares for my daughter's 20 square blanket on the way up, since the trip took a bit longer then we had expected (traveling on a holiday weekend through Santa Barbara, not the wisest of things to do!) I didn't bring any Gray for the outside, as I was not expecting to get all of the blue ones done, so a quick side trip on the way home to Wal-Mart to see if they had some Gray in stock and they did! Now I don't want to brag BUT I added and finished the gray to the blue completely in the dark, with only occasionally turning on the car light to join rounds.
Now this is what my poor house look like right now!

I hate mess and chaos! This could drive me crazy!
I almost forgot, here's what I've gotten done with Poke:

I finished his head! Just need the neck, legs and tail!
That's my quick update for today!

How Long

You know I am really funkified today! I don't know why, but I have the blues! It's Valentines Day and I thought I should actually have the pinks or reds! Maybe it's the move, combined with all other things in life that has me blue! Oh well what do you do about that!?? Well I can always pick up a hook and create something. Now what should I make? I really should just focus and finish the projects I have going! I have the Star Blanket to work on, the wire tea light holders, 2 blankets for my kids and 3 squares for my Granny Exchange. Being in a funk is not helping complete any of those items at this time!
Oh well, since I hate being picture less, here is my necklace that I am wearing in honor of this day.

Happy Valentines Day!

Whiskey Girl

Happy Tuesday!
I have been packing and purging like crazy! Less then 2 weeks until the move! I have been crocheting as well though, some things you just can't go without! I made a total of 6 love bugs! Here is the last group I did:
The black one was the most problematic! First you really need to stuff these guys good and when you do that the stuffing really shows up! Don't they make a black stuffing??? Second the eyes. I didn't like any of the eyes that I made for him so we went to Joann's and got some beads. Now they are kind of goofy but I guess they will do for now. I will have to come up with something better for any future black bugs!

The others were all pretty straight forward! Oh well. I did manage to get 3 more skeins of Simply Soft Heather Gray for my daughters blanket! No one ever has it and I still need 3 more. I get it while I can!

Really smart buying more yarn while in the middle of packing! What's a girl to do??

Here is the Big Poke I am working on as well! He's coming out HUGE!! I ran out of stuffing for him and have to go get some more tonight! I hope I can get in and out without purchasing anything else (yarn) to pack!
The pink and the black is his shell and belly and the green in the start of his head! This will be one big turtle!
That's it for now! Hopefully I can get Poke done before the move.

It's Been Awhile

Not really, but it's the song that I am listening to as I begin typing. I finished 2 more love bugs last night for Valentines gifts.
Actually the one on the right is the first one that I made but seeing as my Daughter stole the other one from me last night, he was unavailable for picture taking! The one on the left in in his box ready for shipment. They are so easy to make up in an evening. I will be making more for some of my Daughters friends for little going away gifts.

Since I really haven't accomplished too much this month I thought I would share older completed projects that I gifted.

This is from the 90's and was a Birthday present for my Sister:

It's a pretty decent size and she loved it. I can't remember exactly what book I got the pattern from but it was from Leisure Arts and had to versions of each afghan.
This one was made for my Brother-in-law in 2003.

This pattern in from the book by Leisure Arts, Best of Terry Kimbrough.
I will have to start making more afghans! I love giving them away and seeing them used!
That's it for me right now! I am on the hunt for boxes!

Stone In Love

I am in a bit of a crisis. I have to move. I hate moving. I have to pack. I hate packing. I have to find a new job...well you get the idea of where I'm heading with that! I am moving 400 miles from my beloved Southern California, OK maybe beloved is a bit strong but still! I am going to Santa Rosa where I only know where there is one Joann's and one Micheal's. I haven't been to the Walmart up there, I sure hope they have a decent yarn selection. I need to surf around for local yarn shops as well!

OK onward we shall go. I made hats for the Bears fans at our Superbowl party (they out numbered the Colts fans)
this is Dylan modeling his exclusive bears edition hat!
I made one for his brother as well but never got a picture. The only difference was the third orange band was eliminated from his brothers. My nephews is the same as the second one too.
Superbowl party was fun, yet disappointing well because the Bears lost but oh well! There's always time to find a new Quarterback!
That's it for me, I will try to snap pictures of my moving progress (sooo much yarn!) as we go along and anything that I can get completed during this month with the packing and the moving and such!

Good Luck Charm

Well no news in the way of crochet or yarn but since I will be away from the computer for 3 or 4 days, I figured I give a little bit!

I got a new magazine last night, Family Circle Easy Crochet. There are great patterns in there and best of all Bernat has a fabulous advertisement inside for crochet in every room. They use great colors and the patterns are free at their website! I am very excited to not only acquire more patterns but they are gorgeous as well! I will be making a few of the projects they show. i will be on the hunt for yarn sales though as one of the bedspreads requires 26 balls of Cool Crochet! At $3 to $4 a ball, that racks up pretty quick!

Anyway my Sister and I went and girlied ourselves last night and in the middle of boot season got pedicures.

I chose to show my Bears support by getting my toes painted dark blue with orange flowers! Good thing the temperature is supposed to be close to 80 degrees on Sunday! I can wear flip flops!

That's it for me! Back in a few days!
