Off my hook!

Well I guess I did have a fairly productive weekend and considering all that went on, I feel pretty darn good about it! I finished up Brandons blanket completely and it is now just waiting for him. The border was just 2 rows of single crochet all the way around. I also finished the second fingerless glove. Here's that:

You only get one because it's too hard to take a picture of both hands at the same time, but I think you get the idea. The other looks just the same! The only alteration I made was to reduce the total number of rows for 36 to 34 to fit a bit snugger!

I also finished one side of one potholder! I bought some Lion Brand cotton in Black and paired it with some Bernat pink that I had in my stash. Here's that picture:

I started on the second side of this one so I should have 1 complete potholder by tonight! It's Monday night football so I get a lot of crocheting done while watching that (unless the game gets too exciting!) I got a 14 oz skein of Bernat Handicrafter Christmas in red! I have never seen this before so it's pretty cool. I can now make a pair of red and black ones as shown in the book! Not that it really matters the colors...but my kitchen does just so happen to be red, hmmm!

I do believe that's my report for today!

Friday's update

Well I have all the squares together on Brandons blanket and started on the edging! I should be able to get that 100% completed by the end of the weekend! Here is a picture of it:

I thought that I needed just one more project to go along with my many others, so I have decided to make family members the Skull potholders that are in The Happy Hooker for Christmas gifts! Now I will be on a cotton buying fest this weekend trying to locate the colors that will go along with above mentioned family members! Right now at my count I have about 8 sets to do and that number will probably grow as I go along! I am going to make a set of the Cowboy Booties that everyone was talking about this week on my CP list, for a friend of mine. His birthday is in December so I have a little bit of time for those! Aaaah, my fingers shall be busy!

Happy Friday all and have a great weekend!

Fun Stuff...or not

I have been whipping Brandon's squares together! boring! I hope I can sit down tonight and just get it done! I want to add the border and finish this baby up! I have so many projects on my list that I need to actually complete this before I get sidetracked again! Ok speaking of sidetracking I did start another project, THESE Here is a picture from yesterday:
I would have taken a picture of the finished item but my lovely daughter has decided that she LOVES it and took it to school today! BEST compliment, so I really can't complain too much. I will get the other one done today or tomorrow. I am using the Brent Camoflauge yarn that my Aunt sent to me for this pair but I think my daughter will be checking out my stash for more colors!

That's pretty much it for now, I have not done anymore on my well traveled bag because of Brandon's blanket needing to be put together but I will hopefully have that done and ready for felting by Monday! Well maybe not, my daughters birthday is Friday and the party is Saturday and that will cut into a lot of crocheting time! We'll see!

Yarn Stash!

Well I decided if I am ever going to get a handle on my stash, I HAVE to organize! Organize I did! I pulled out all 7 of my 28 gal containers and put skein on my bed stacked according to color. Here are the pictures of that!

This is all of my worsted weights and a few miscellaneous skeins thrown in. I refilled the containers and labeled them with their colors. I have enough pink yarn for my daughters Hiawatha Afghan and enough camoflauge for my nephews squares blanket! I will be stash busting! Please note that there are no pictures of the baskets in my living room (3) or the large hat box stash! I can only be so organized!
This is one container filled with baby yarns and Jiffy yarn. I prefer these separate for easier access.

I also got some of this to make a new Well Traveled Bag :
Here's the bottom of the bag. I can't wait to see how this felts up!
That's it for my adventures this weekend! Oh yeah I did complete all of the squares for Brandon's blanket, now to assemble!

It's RED

Well I think the colors are more cinnamon but it sure is RED!! Good thing that red is my favorite color so this will go with everything! I love the textures of both yarns and I love how they worked up together and makes the whole thing look like some fancy pattern when is fact it is completely done is single crochet! I was wrong in my row counts though, I did 3 rows in Marvel (that's the actual name of the lumpy-bumpy stuff) and then 2 rows in the Spirits and then 3 more in Marvel. Both of these yarn are from Jo-ann's Sensations line. The Marvel's colorway is Cinnamon and the Spirits is Berry. I used one hank plus a bit of the Marvel and 1 skein of the Spirits. I love how fast this worked up too! The P hook is my new friend for Christmas!
Here is a detail shot:

Have a great weekend!

Two in a row!

Wow, look at me! 2 posts, 2 days in a row! Anyway...I took pictures of my newest scarf last night to share! I am loving how it is turning out. I did 4 rows of the yarn that I showed off yesterday and then 2 rows of a new, sparkly yarn that I had from Joann's and then I will add 4 more rows of the lumpy bumpy stuff! I think I will be putting fringe as well! Anyhoo here's the picture:

I will take another picture when it is done (probably tomorrow!)
I have gotten another square of Brandon's blanket done and hopefully can get most of that done this weekend!

That's it for today!

Wild Wednesday

No pictures for today! I have been working on Brandon's blanket and I have 4 more squares left (of 20) and then the put together! I did start a scarf last night to use a yarn that I have had for awhile and see how it works up.
Well I guess I will put a picture up! I forgot that I had this picture already on my computer. Anyway the yarn is fat & skinny and it calls for a P hook! I am doing a lengthwise scarf that will also have a few other different yarns for different textures. This is a experiment but I love a good concoction! Of course I never in this life time need another scarf, but who cares! I love them and have dozens that I have whipped up and wear a surprising amount of them as the weather cools down! If I could get my daughter to wear them as well they would all get more use, but for some reason she doesn't like scarves! One day, one day! She is liking the funkiness of this yarn though so I might convert her yet! I think that's all I've got for today!

It's All Done!!

Yippee! I finished it! My first graph afghan is complete! I started this on 9/10/06 and finished it yesterday (10/15) I am very happy that it is completed though I feel a little bit empty without it on my lap! Anyway here are the pictures that I took over the weekend!
This is before the border was added. And here is the final afghan! I'm happy and sad at the same time! I think I will be doing another for my lovely daughter in pink, green and cream. Now I will be finishing up Brandon's and then starting yet another squares blanket for my niece in purple & pink. I also got yarn to do this for myself! Here's the yarn I picked out:

This will be my first ever wearable! Hopefully this will work up without too many issues!

Wow 2006 has been a busy year for me with trying new things and completing so much! I am hoping to get a bunch of stuff done before Christmas!

TGIF!!!

I am so happy that's it is Friday! I can snuggle under my down comforter in the morning without worrying about the alarm clock going off every 9 minutes! It's gotten a bit chilly in the morning lately and it's making it very hard to get up in the AM these days!
I worked on my afghan and this is where I am at so far:
I have all of the dangleies? Hanging there and waiting to be worked in with the rest of the zig-zag. I will have this done by Monday with pictures ready to post of the finished project!!!

My favorite Aunt sent me this today:
I can't wait to work with this! I went to Wal-Mart today to see of they had any (they didn't) and came back to this in the mail box! She reading my mind!
Off for the weekend!

Thursday thoughts

Well I have now progressed to the zigs on the blanket! I have 5 more squares left of Brandon's and I have approximately 1 million (give or take) more projects lined up!! Egads, there's barly 2 months until Christmas and I don't know how I will be getting anything done!!! RELAX...OK I'm back on the stable ground again for a second. Anyway here are a couple of pictures of the afghan:

Well at least it's coming along. It will be done no later then this weekend even if that means a couple of late nights! I need to get this off of my plate!
My computer is making bad noises right now and my head is pounding! Never a good combo!
Got to go pick up kids!

Monday has come again!

Hola Peeps!
It's is Monday once again and I have a few things to share! I got some more done on Hiawatha Afghan, it's coming down to the end now! I really wanted to get it done by tomorrow to make it only a month long project, but alas it did not work out that way. Oh well, it should be done by the end of the week though so I'm still doing good! Here' are today's pictures of the progress:

Got past the second set of diamonds and will be cruising along tonight on the solid rows!

I got this last week as a gift from my sister and I LOVE IT!!

It is holding 2 projects, extra yarn and my project book and magazine! Great take along!

I went to Micheals on Saturday to check out the Paton's SWS yarn...simply beautiful! I only bought 1 skien of Natural Earth and can't wait to play with it and find a project to make so I can buy more!!

I dyed some yarn as well on Saturday and here are those 2 skeins of kool-aid dyed yarn!

I think that's it for today!

Happy Wednesday

Hey all! Here is todays update of the afghan status! I have gotten to the solid rows again! Hopefully it will progress quickly now! It's getting heavy so I know it will be toasty while watching TV on a cool night! I sure hope the intended will love it! Anyway here are the pictures of the progress so far!

Two angles.

My daughter is in love with this blanket! She loves the designs on it so I think I will be designing a different one for her in a little bit girlier colors.
I did get another square done for Brandon's blanket as well as his is done in squares so the portability of that is easier when I'm waiting in the car to pick up my Daughter from school. I also forgot about the baby blanket that I was working on for my Brother and his wife and their new little girl! Busy, busy, busy!

Weekend news

We went to the LA County Fair this weekend and you know that I made everyone go and check out the crocheted items! They had the most beautiful entries! I think I will be teaching myself broomstick crochet because there was a blanket done there that I fell in love with! I also made everyone (kids were thrilled) go on over to check out the fiber sheep! I had a blast and got to see the machines that they had set up for carding and spinning and plying! Here are those pictures:

That was so cool to see up close! I also got a couple of hanks just because!
I think they will become a new purse!
Here is the progress on the afghan! I worked hard almost all weekend (except for Saturday at the fair) and am making good progress I think anyway!
Pictures a little dark but you get the idea! I'm very excited for it to be done! I have been very good about weaving in the ends as I go so that won't be a huge deal at the end! I started this September 10th and am over half done so I'm hoping to complete by the 10th of October, I don't know but maybe!
